Akademi, bu sene
en iyi özgün müzik Oscar’ına aday olabilmek için yarışacak 97 filmi ve
müzisyenlerini açıkladı. Bir takım filmlerin –haliyle müzisyenlerin uzun
listeye girememesi ise şaşırttı.
Cliff Martinez
(Drive), Howard Shore (A Dangerous Method), Christophe Beck (The Muppets) ve
Alexandre Desplat (A Better Life), liste dışı kalan isimler ve filmlerden en
önemlileri olarak karşımıza çıkıyor. Bu müzisyenlerden her biri, başka filmlere
yaptıkları müziklerle listede özellikle Desplat’nın bu seneki en iyi işlerinden
birinin sınavı geçememesi üzücü oldu.
Howard Shore’un
Rango ve Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows filmleri için yaptıkları besteler
de liste dışı kalsa da üstün yetenek Shore, Martin Scorsese’nin Hugo filmi için
yaptığı müziklerle adaylığını garantiledi gibi bir şey. Rango ise vizyona girdiği tarihten beri en iyi özgün müzik kategorisine aday olacağına kesin gözüyle bakılan filmlerden biriydi.
Alexandre Desplat
(Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close) ve Howard Shore’un (Hugo) muhtemel adaylıklarının
yanında John Williams ise muhtemelen hem The Adventures of Tintin hem de War
Horse için yaptığı müziklerle aday olacak gibi duruyor. Geriye kalan beşinci
aday ise Ludovic Bource (The Artist) olacaktır –hatta kesin diyebiliriz.
Geçtiğimiz yılın
Oscar kazananları Trent Reznor ve Atticus Ross (The Girl with the Dragon
Tattoo) ve 2007’de ödülü kucaklayan Dario Marianelli (Jane Eyre) de sürpriz
yapıp ilk 5’e kalması muhtemel isimler. Şahsi görüşümce Dragon Tattoo ve The
Social Network müzikleri neredeyse birbirinin kopyası olduğundan Reznor ve Ross
ikilisi bu sene aday gösterilmese de olur gibi.
